Product overview

Silicone Resin is a family of MQ, T, Q and hybrid organosilicon binders supplied as solids or solvent solutions. Selection depends on resin architecture, M/Q or organic-modification ratio, solids, solvent, softening point, cure behavior and application requirements.

Function & Usage

  • Repel Water & Hydrophobize Surfaces

Reduces water uptake or increases surface hydrophobicity in suitable mineral, masonry, concrete or coating systems. Typical uses: Heat-resistant and weatherable coatings, Electrical-insulation and encapsulation systems, Release, non-stick and water-repellent surfaces.

  • Encapsulate, Pot & Electrically Insulate

Supports potting, casting, molding or encapsulation systems used to protect and electrically insulate components. Typical uses: Heat-resistant and weatherable coatings, Electrical-insulation and encapsulation systems, Release, non-stick and water-repellent surfaces.

  • Build Industrial & Protective Coatings

Provides a binder, pigment, curing or performance function for compatible industrial and protective coating systems. Typical uses: Heat-resistant and weatherable coatings, Electrical-insulation and encapsulation systems, Release, non-stick and water-repellent surfaces.

Product information

Primary category:
Paints, Coatings, Adhesives & Construction, Electronics & Electrical Materials, Plastic & Rubber Additives, Personal Care & Cosmetic, Fine Chemicals
Subcategory:
Silicone Resins & High-Performance Binders
CAS No.:
Mixture; no single CAS
Form:
Powder / Flakes / Clear solution
Content / Grade:
100% solid powder or flakes; or 50–80% resin solution in a declared solvent; MQ, T, Q and hybrid structure by grade
Applications:
Heat-resistant and weatherable coatings, Electrical-insulation and encapsulation systems, Release, non-stick and water-repellent surfaces, Silicone-rubber reinforcement and cosmetic film formation by suitable grade
Hazard / Transport:
Solid and solution grades have different classifications. Solvent-borne grades may be flammable and harmful, while fine powders require dust control; confirm resin composition, solvent, dangerous-goods status and the exact SDS.
Storage:
Keep sealed in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place. Protect solids from moisture and contamination; keep solvent-borne grades away from heat, sparks, flames and oxidizers.
